Johnny Cash wore black

“Well you wonder why I always dress in black
Why you never see bright colors on my back
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down
Living in the hopeless, hungry side of town

I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he is a victim of the time…”

And from the “Prophet”
“Oftentimes have I heard you speak of one who commits a wrong as though he were not one of you, but a stranger unto you and an intruder upon your world.
But I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you,
So the wicked and the weak cannot  fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.
And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree
So the wrong doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all.
Like a procession you walk together toward your god-self.
You are the way and wayfarers…”

Why do I write this? I see that many of the lessons that we need to learn, are right there in front of us. Rather than cast blame, let’s self-reflect and see within ourselves the frailities of our humanity.
